Coaches

Saige Beaty is currently an educator and coach at Carbon Hill High School. He studied at the University of West Alabama and holds a B.S. degree in Biology, an M.A. degree in administration, and an ED.S. in education. Saige played baseball and basketball while attending Bevill State Community College and baseball for the University of Montevallo.
Saige began his education profession coaching high school volleyball and basketball and has been passionately working with student athletes for the past seventeen years. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Meagan, and their daughter, Brynlee Claire.
Saige is ecstatic to be a part of this organization which is designed to help student athletes develop discipline and fundamental-characteristics which will last them a lifetime.

Jessica was 1st team all conference her last 2 years, won libero of the year her last year, and was named to the 1st team AVCA regional team conference.
Jessica holds two school records.

Jessica majored in biology and minored in chemistry and is currently taking a year off while applying to medical school.

- 18 years of High School Experience (Head Coach and Assistant) Serving as head coach for Dora High School, Curry High School, and assistant at Walker High School
- 8 years of Club experience, Smith Lake, Rocket City, and Tribe 205
- Experienced Clinician – conduct junior varsity and varsity volleyball skills camps for over 18 years
- Currently Head Softball Coach At Corner High School

We live in Carbon Hill. When we are not at a sporting event, our hobbies include, going to the lake, spending time at the beach, and spending time with our family and friends.

Kara has been involved in the sport of Volleyball for 9 years as a player and official.
Kara completed an Associate degree at Snead State and is now employed with Family Health Associates in Jasper, Alabama.
She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and boyfriend.

Over the course of her career she has been a part of multiple championship teams from high school, to abroad, to collegiate level including:

- District Championship for Father Lopez High School

- MVP for Youth World Games Tournament (Europe)

Patrick has been a player and president of the University of Alabama’s Men’s Club team for 4 years.
He has been involved with the sport since high school and has been coaching sense 2013.
Patrick is currently pursuing a Degree in Nursing at Shelton State Community College with goals of becoming a nurse practitioner, and the possible opportunity of belonging to a professional team.
He enjoys spending time where ever Volleyball or animals are.

Gravlee is currently a member of the University of Alabama Men’s Volleyball team where he has played the last three years. Coach Gravlee has played Volleyball competitively the past 6 years between club and UA. He took interest in the game in the 6th grade. His coaching style includes a sense of mental toughness, positivity as well as team chemistry on and off the court. His background includes working at 6A Mcadory High School as a volleyball coach and coaching club volleyball the last two years. He is majoring in Sports Medicine/Exercise Science.
Over the course of his career he has competed at both the collegiate and national level. In 2016 Captain Patrick Smith, led the Tide to their first appearance in years at the NCVF National tournament where the took home 3rd place in D1aaa, out of the top 48 teams around. Returning in 2017 to the National tournament in Kansas City Missouri, Gravlee along the side of Smith had a season record of 37-7 and brought home third place for the second straight year after losing in the final four. He hopes to return and to go further as his career as a player is nearing an end.
